Ateneo hosts Erasmus+ Project PATHWAY Training

Ateneo de Manila University, through the Office of Placement and Career Services (OPCS), Business Resource Center (BRC), and Office of International Relations (OIR), hosted the Erasmus+ project Promoting Employability and Entrepreneurship of Higher education graduates through innovative Ways in the Philippines (PATHWAY) third “Training of Trainers” (ToT) last October 10-15, 2022. The weeklong training kicked-off with the opening remarks from Ateneo de Manila University President, Fr Roberto C Yap SJ.

PATHWAY is a project co-financed by the European Union under the ERASMUS+ programme. The University of Alicante (UA) acts as the European project coordinator with the support of University of Montpellier (UM), Commission on Higher Education, European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), and five (5) Philippine HEIs, namely: Ateneo de Manila University, Benguet State University, Lyceum Philippines University - Batangas, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, and St Paul University Philippines

The focus of the third PATHWAY ToT was the “development and evaluation of Higher Education Institution (HEI) students' soft skills with the aim of maximizing employment observatories.” The specific objectives were carried out through a series of activities at the Loyola Schools campus as led by the PATHWAY project coordinator, Cristina Beans of the University of Alicante, Spain.

The first day’s agenda included a partners’ meeting on the week’s activities and introductory sessions on the relevant topics for the third ToT module. Lectures and workshops on soft skills were delivered by Emmanuel Houzė, Adeline Orssaud, and Yuanfei Huang (University of Montpellier, France); Victor Climent (University of Alicante, Spain) and local stakeholders  including Mary Lou Rissa Fr. Cunanan, Suyomano CEO.

To extend a warm welcome to the PATHWAY stakeholders, the PATHWAY team of Ateneo arranged a guided tour of the Ateneo Art Gallery (AAG)’s indoor and outdoor exhibitions at the Areté Ateneo. The first day activities were concluded with a welcome dinner sponsored by the Commission on Higher Education and a cultural performance from the Lyceum of the Philippines University, Batangas Philippines.
